How We Help
Early in the design stage of the project, we will recommend specific acoustic design targets, if not in place, so that a later construction or building envelope report can be issued and reviewed against these targets. Consequently we quickly develop construction details and explore value engineering options. We review constructions, junction details and finishes so that your project meets the criteria. We advise on the following:
- Building envelope sound insulation performance.
- Sound insulation performance between spaces.
- Surface Finishes: including review of sound absorbing finishes in circulation spaces.
- Room acoustics.
- Internal noise levels during heavy rainfall.
For large or complex shaped spaces, we undertake noise modelling so that we can determine the exact reverberation requirements and the location and quality of any acoustically absorptive materials needed. We attend design team meetings (DTMs) and correspond regularly with the team to create the right acoustic conditions, avoiding costly remedial treatments.

Site Inspections
Specifying floor and wall types to meet sound insulation targets is key to the successful acoustic design of most developments. However, to meet both impact and airborne sound insulation targets noise flanking transmission needs to be avoided. This means that workmanship and detailing needs to be first rate. For this reason, we provide a site inspection service during construction at key phases to identify and rectify defects. We follow up promptly with a site inspection report so that you can do any remedial work before pre-completion testing. So we help you avoid project delays.
