Entertainment
The paying public expects to enjoy leisure time in comfortable surroundings which is why good internal acoustics is so important. Also, the noise from these facilities must not have unduly affect local residents. Good design starts with good project management. If you appoint us at an early stage we can help ensure that the development provides the perfect atmosphere for staff and clients. We will also make sure that the effect on local residents will be acceptable. Environoise Consulting helps you obtain acoustics related BREEAM credits (Building and Research Establishment’s Environmental Assessment Method). We undertake noise surveys and prediction modelling to identify issues and propose mitigation schemes if needed.
Contact our proactive and approachable team if you need help with any aspect of noise and acoustics. Our services include pre-application planning or commissioning your development including measurement of services noise, external noise ingress, reverberation and sound insulation.

Cinemas
Multiscreen cinemas rely heavily on dramatic high level ‘surround sound’ supplied by multiple loudspeaker systems. Cinemas need spaces with a low reverberation time and a building envelope of high sound insulation performance. High sound insulation is also needed for walls between adjacent screens.
Environoise Consulting can help you meet demanding acoustic targets. The targets may be set by the operator or, if not, we can specify suitable targets. Individual cinema spaces including shared and open plan foyer spaces for multiplex screens are modelled using CATT software to achieve high quality audibility.

Sports Facilities & Outdoor Events
Our noise assessments support planning applications. We are confident in our dealings with local authority planners and take the pressure off you over noise issues.
The noise impact of activities such as skate parks, Multi Use Games Areas (MUGAs), motorsport and motocross tracks are assessed by performing a preliminary ambient noise level survey. A SoundPlan computer model is then created to predict the potential noise impact relative to the existing ambient. If the results show that an adverse impact is likely, mitigation measures can be modelled so that the adverse impact can be minimised.

Bars & Nightclubs
Late night revellers in clubs and bars can cause significant noise nuisance to residents wishing to sleep. We assess these issues in accordance with the ‘Good Practice Guide for Control of Noise from Pubs and Clubs by the Institute of Acoustics (IoA). A local planning authority may have their own guidance. We liaise with the local authority for you to resolve issues of existing and potential noise nuisance for proposed existing developments.
